Casting Shop Closed Through July

By Tuesday of last week, we had things patched up a bit – still plenty of work left to do, but we could get in and out of HistoriFigs HQ…

Thursday brought round two of storms with heavy wind and rain. The result being an even bigger mess than the results of the storms form the previous weekend. Wind wasn’t so much a factor for us; it was the water!

The picture above was taken Friday morning, as you can see water is still moving fairly quickly down the new path of the creek – the new path just happens to be our driveway – deepest portion is a depth of 4 feet…

By late Saturday, I was able to redirect the flow of water back into the original creek bed, thus arresting further erosion damage.

As we move on down to the bottom of the driveway, we see that the county will be busy for a couple of day repairing the damaged roadway (which has our road closed).

As you can see, the street is a bit torn up, this will have to be repaired before we can even think about our own repairs.

Our last picture shows State Hwy 33 – our main road in – on Saturday afternoon…

It is hard to see, but there is a car roof just barley visible just to the right of the flag pole (which is to the right of the sign at the gas station). Other pictures show a water depth of 6 plus feet…

Anyhow, the good news is that we are all fine, wet, covered in poison ivy and mosquito bites, but fine none-the-less. The area is recovering, but it is going to take some time for things to get back to normal.

Given the current situation, we have decided to close the casting shop through the month of July. Between cleanup and a need to conserve propane (no way the truck can get in to fill the tank) we just cannot see any type of ‘normal’ operations until at least August. We still have plenty of stock (Resistant Roosters, Blasted Planets and Bloodaxe Miniatures), but will be cutting back to a single shipping day each week (target is shipping on Fridays).

Not much more to report on right now, we will continue to update you with our progress (on cleanup as well as any other interesting projects that may come along)

Casting Shop closed for at least two weeks

Just a quick news update: Due to the storms this past weekend we will need to close the casting shop for the next couple of weeks. Right now the only way in or out of HistoriFigs HQ is on foot. As such we have a bit of (back-breaking) work do do.

We will squeeze in what we can, but anything that that is not already in ‘the system’ will very likely be pushed out until at least the week of the 23rd.

We will be sure to update as the week progresses.

Email Issues Again

For the past week or so we have been having problems with our email server – more down than up I am afraid. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the latest fix will take care of the technical issues.

And now for the SPAM side of the problem; junk mail messages are at an all time high, so once again we have tightened the filtering in an effort to filter out even more of the unwanted mail messages.

If you have written in the past week or two and have not heard back from us, please try again. You will have better luck with our alternate email address:

New Prices for Resistant Roosters

In the spirit of doing things differently, we here at HistoriFigs are once again are doing the unexpected…

After much research and number crunching we have arrived at a new pricing structure for the Resistant Roosters line of 15mm miniatures.

While others are increasing prices, we have decided to reduce our standard pricing for the 15mm World War II miniatures included in the Resistant Roosters line.

Our typical prices are being slashed by about 10% – a typical Combat Platoon will now be priced at $19.25, while a typical Support Platoon will be priced at $9.50 (see our new price sheet for full pricing
details).

In addition to our new prices we have decided to restructure our Company Box offerings. We now offer two types of company boxes:

  1. ‘Standard’ Company Box; typically contains an HQ plus two Combat platoons.
  2. ‘Deluxe’ Company Box typically contains an HQ plus 2 Combat platoons and one or two Support platoons.

See product listings for Company Box contents

Our new prices take effect on 1 June 2008

Resistant Roosters now priced differently!

Scruby Line goes on Summer Vacation

The end of May marks the beginning of our summer casting schedule – School is out and Alison has fewer casting hours available..

Add to this all of the extra summertime farm chores and there are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done.

So, in an effort to keep all things at a manageable level, we are putting the Scruby line on hiatus. From 15 June through 15 September the Scruby line will not be in production. Our other miniature lines will retain an ‘in production’ status.

Yes, there will be exceptions to the rule, in some cases we have castings in stock and these will be listed as available and will ship out as any other ‘stock’ castings. And, yes, you can still order Scruby figures during the summer, but be aware that order processing for non-stock Scruby figures may take several weeks.
