Scruby 40mm…

June 30th 2006

I keep sitting down to write the news for July, but never get past sitting down to do it. There are just too many distractions I guess. So, while I’m still working on the July edition of the news, I thought you might like to look over the list of “possible” Scruby 40mm releases. To this end, I’ve posted a PDF file which contains the last listing for Scruby 40mm figures (as found in the last Scruby catalog and less the ACW figures – which are now 100% complete). You can find the file here: Scruby 40mm Toy Soldiers

As of yet, I’ve not located masters and or patterns for all of the figures in the listing, but I’m still looking. If you have an interest in the Scruby 40mm figures, please take a look at the list and let us know what you might be interested in (no commitments to buy, we just need your feedback) when we begin producing our new production molds for these figures.

Come fall or winter this year we will begin a similar project for the 54mm figures.

Well, that’s it for now, enjoy the 40mm listings and please send your feedback.

Mid June News

June 13th 2006

In less than one weeks time, we have survived two new releases (Blasted Planets 25mm Science Fiction and the new 10mm Hawaiians) and a tornado! Not too bad I suppose.

We lost a full weeks worth of production time due to tornado cleanup, and I expect to loose a bit more as we spin back up to speed. This coupled with an already over full production schedule means order fulfillment delays will continue through July. By The end of July we should be back on schedule and order fulfillment time should improve.

We still have a few new releases in the pipeline (done, just awaiting an announcement), so watch this page for release announcements. While on the subject of new releases, Jason Miller is working on the first figure in a new range being developed for the science fiction crowd. He indicates that his a bout 50% and should have pictures soon. As soon as we have some pictures in from Jason, we will be sure to share them with you – We think this will be a very cool figure – a nice starting point for the new line…

For other projects, I’ve been reviving some of the old Scruby figure kits – in scales from 54mm to 120mm. Presently all kits are being produced from the original Scruby molds – this means that production numbers will be low, as there is a lot of hand work (cleanup) that needs to go into each kit. Pictures of the first kit(s) should be completed later this week and will be posted over the weekend.

Additionally, I’ve made some good progress on the “new” Bloodaxe website (a prototype for the new HistoriFigs website), So, I think that next week we can point you to a preview of the new website.

That about wraps it up for now – check back this weekend for some new pictures.

And now for…

June 8th 2006

More than 30 years ago, Jack Scruby introduced us to N-Gauge (10/12mm) miniature figures. He may not have been the first to produce this scale, but he was for sure the first with the most variety (Ancients, 30YW, SYW/AWI, Napoleonic, ACW, African Colonial and Afrika Korps – WWII)…

It was 10 years ago that Lance Runolfsson brought us the first 15mm Hawaiians…

We haven’t been around all that long (3 years now), but we are pleased to produce both Jack Scruby’s N-Gauge ranges and Lance Runolfsson’s 15mm Hawaiians. So, in keeping with this fine tradition of “firsts” we are launching another first; the first “all new” 10/12mm release from HistoriFigs. A release, which also happens to be the first 10/12mm Hawaiians!

Inspired by the works of Jack Scruby and Lance Runolfsson and sculpted by Jason Miller, there are more than 16 different figures plus an outrigger canoe with crew and as a bonus, a tiki god (suitable for use with our 15mm figures as well). Each “basic” pack contains 40 plus figures AND and outrigger canoe (with crew of two) AND a tiki god. This basic pack (which contains enough figures for a complete DBA army) retails for $7.50. Need more Outrigger canoes? Well, these are available in packs of 3 for $3.50 – and if you need more tiki gods, these too come in 6 packs for $2.00. Later this month we will introduce additional packs – smaller packs of common figures as well as larger, or mega packs with hundreds of figures. Order by description.

As a special bonus we are offering a couple of bonus items:

1) in 54mm a Hula Dancer AND 2) also in 54mm King Kamehameha.

To receive your “free” bonus figure(s) you should:

1) Purchase $25 or more from HistoriFigs (order must include Hawaiians in either 10mm or 15mm) and receive your choice of the Hula Dancer or King Kamehameha “free”

2) Purchase $50 or more from HistoriFigs (order must include Hawaiians in either 10mm or 15mm) and receive both 54mm figures”free”.

The above offers expire at midnight July 31 2006

3) Be one of the first 10 people to order the new 10mm Hawaiians and receive a “random” selection of: the Hula Dancer or King Kamehameha “free”

The above offer expires as soon as we receive our 10th order which included the new 10mm Hawaiians

4) All customers who order Hawaiians in either 10mm or 15mm will be entered into a monthly drawing for a free 54mm figure – winner’s choice between the Hula Dander and King Kamehameha

The above offer expires midnight 31 December 2006 (last drawing will be held on 1 January 2007

And lastly, if you purchase either the Hula Dancer or King Kamehameha ($5.50 each, unpainted), receive the other figure with no additional cost – offer expires midnight 31 July 2006

Kamehameha delays as tornado cleanup continues…

June 8th 2006

I think that we will have another update tonight with pictures and pricing for the new 10mm figures.

Cleanup went well yesterday, so we should have some time tonight for photos and and update. We will however be in slow mode for then next week or so as we continue the cleanup process.

Tornado Delays Updates

June 7th 2006

Our recent tornado (last night) has caused a bit of a delay in our web updates.

We are all ok-fine and our biggest damage is the 2 dozen or more trees down, many blocking the driveway (access to the house).

Today and the rest of the week will be filled with clean up. We’ll see what we can do to get some new pictures up tonight or tomorrow…
