New Monthly Drawing : Mike’s Grab Bag

October 31st 2006

What is the “Mike’s Grab Bag” drawing all about?

Well, every month (OK, everyday) there is a bunch of “stuff” on my desk that just isn’t being used. This stuff might be figures or it might be books or maybe some one-off conversions or maybe a new sculpt. I really don’t know what I’ll find on my desk – it won’t be junk, I wouldn’t do that too you, but you never know what it might be!

Here is how it will work, starting in November, on the last day of the month, I’ll clear off my desk and put together that month’s grab bag. Then we will round up the names of everyone to whom we shipped orders as well as the names of any open orders and toss them all into a hat. From there we will draw at least one name each month and that lucky winner will receive the grab bag for the month (if the is a lot of “stuff” on my desk, we may make up two or more grab bags).

There you are, easy as pie – I get a clean desk and some lucky customer gets some “free stuff”.

What’s up with Hula Dancers?

October 31st 2006

I’ve seen a strange trend this past month – people searching for and buying 54mm Hula Dancers! OK, well maybe they haven’t been searching for Hula Dancers in 54mm, but they have been finding them and then buying them. No complaints here, we do like to sell figures…

Perhaps there was some recurring theme folks were dialing into? Or maybe everyone just wants a piece of Hawaii at home?

Anyhow, it was just an interesting flurry of activity – log files show a number of hits from folks searching for “hula”….

Announcing The Morschauser Files…

October 26th 2006

There has been much interest in the war game related writings of Joseph Morschauser, as such I’ve been doing a bit of re-arranging of forums and topics on the Table Top Talk website.

The result of all this shuffling has been the creation of a new forum: The Morschauser Files

Here is where I am collecting all posts concerning Joe and his writings. Please feel free to drop by and browse (more articles in the coming days) and chat about the writings of Joseph Morschauser.

To get you started, here is a link to The Morschauser Files

Wargamer’s Corner Updates

October 23rd 2006

We’ve been busy adding to the Wargamer’s Corner section of the website. Some recent additions include:

“Bloodybacks” (the rules we use for AWI games in 30mm), “The Free Move – Timed Move – Ancients War Game” (written with Scruby’s 20mm Ancients figures in mind) and Jack Scruby’s “Basic War Game Rules” (N-gauge with no bookkeeping).

There is plenty more to come, so be sure to check in often.
